Laura’s Sweet and Spicy Emporium began for  Laura Latner as a small dream, as most things do, but for Laura it all started on her grandmothers front porch. Peddling Jerry’s Beehives honey to her local small town crowd. Soon demand grew, the honey was spectacular, the demand had outgrown her humble beginnings. Laura took a leap and procured a vending booth at Renningers Market in Mount Dora Florida. It was clear that Laura’s Sweet and Spicy Emporium quickly became the retail arm for the Latner Family Honey Farm. With more than a 50 year history, the Latner family built their reputation on a superior farmed honey. With the constant goal of producing and packing honey directly for the consumer. It didn’t take long to realize Laura’s Sweet and Spicy Emporium had become a local treasure providing other lines of Farm Fresh, Farm produced products. With great care our family selected products unrivaled in their taste, freshness, and dedication to quality.

Some may think they are literally in the middle of nowhere, not Jerry Latner. Jerry has been “in the middle of nowhere”, working his bees since he was 10 years old. “Back before GPS. There were no cell phones. Heck there were no pay phones around here either.” Jerry tells me as we move closer to the hives. His voice hardly audible over the drone of millions of bees. “Now no matter what, don’ start runnin.” For my very first time in the bees this was turning out to bee……..
